The first Executive Program @ Singularity University held from 6 to November 15, 2009 on the campus of Ames Research Center of NASA in Moffett Field, California.
The Singularity University is sponsored by Google and NASA. It aims to “unite, educate and inspire a new generation of leaders” on how to address current and future global challenges through innovation and technological evolution.
It was conceived three years ago and strongly supported by the futurist, scientist and author Ray Kurzweil and the X-Prize Foundation Chairman Peter Diamandis.
More specifically, the Singularity University will:
1. explore the exponential growth in technology in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, supercomputing, medicine, nanotechnology, the media and communications, alternative energy, environment, …;
2. make connections in a interdisciplinary, intercultural and international way typical also of the International Space University;
3. apply the ideas and content to the major challenges that humanity will face with the aim of finding solutions that have a disruptive impact on one billion people in the next 10 years.
The Exponential Technologies Executive Program educates, informs, and prepares executives to recognize the opportunities and disruptive influences of exponentially growing technologies and understand how these fields affect your future, your company, and your industry.
The Executive Program offers a unique over-the-horizon radar for decision-makers, strategists, CEOs, CTOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and government leaders — anyone thinking about their company and their industry. Attending the program provides an understanding of how accelerating technologies will transform your business by showing you what is in the lab today and where the technologies will be within the next 3 to 10 years.
